UPDATE: It seems so long ago since we were able to spend time sitting down in a restaurant, café or bookstore, to enjoy the food, atmosphere and company of friends. Sometimes we forget how important it is to get out of the home and office to go to different places and meet with others. These activities, foods and opportunities to directly interact with other people impact everyone. Perhaps more than ever before in our lifetime, we are reminded of the importance of others and other “things”. And perhaps in the past when we saw a painting in person we ignored it or gave it just a glace, because, of course, we could always see it up close next time. Little did we know what was soon to come. So, the next time you see some art in a museum, a café or in person, take a good look and enjoy it for what it is, for as long as you can.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: There are many bookstores in Beijing, China that offer coffee and other drinks. And when a bookstore just sells beverages and books, it’s more akin to a library. They’re a good place to study and relax. Yet, more and more these stores are using art to enhance their appeal to customers by designating areas for the appreciation and purchase of artwork such as contemporary and modern paintings.
